The Feng Shui Bagua Grid The Bagua below may be superimposed over a property, home, office, room or any area with boundaries, even your desk to locate the nine Feng Shui life areas. Align the bottom of this grid with the street or driveway side of your property line or the entry door to a space. Try this: Print the Bagua and hold it in your hands as if to read it (Purple, red, and pink to the top of the page with blue, navy, and gray at the bottom). If you stood in the doorway to your bedroom the entry door would be in either Skills and Knowledge, Career, or Helpful People and Travel. Let’s say it’s in the Career Life Area, as you enter your bedroom the door is within the center third of that wall. Wait, don’t move! In the room, looking to the rear left corner is your bedroom's Abundance Life Area. At the rear center third of the space is Fame and Reputation. To your bedroom's rear right corner is the Relationship Life Area. Now look at the Bagua's center band and your room. From left to right are Family, Health at the center, and Children and Creativity. You know how to locate the three life areas aligned with the entry to your bedroom. Your entry door, for this example, is centered in the Career area, to your left is Skills and Knowledge and on your right is Helpful People and Travel. Voilà! Maybe your bedroom is not a square. Imagine pulling or pushing the grid to conform to the shape of your room. You may have long and skinny or short and wide life areas, you may have corners of other rooms poking into your space. It's all OK. Configuring life areas close in size matters. You may not, for example, super-size the Abundance area in your forming process and leave your Family area a diet plate. Clever idea, but it does not work. The nature of Feng Shui consistently moves us toward balance. There are times when certain areas jump up and down demanding attention while other areas roll merrily, merrily along. This is life. Isn’t this fun?!?! When using the Bagua, stand at the entry to a space to identify your nine life areas. The steps outlined to identify the areas in your bedroom can be used for any other space.
